Discipline: Pistol
Free Pistol is a precision pistol shooting event in which competitors fire a series of shots at a fixed target over a set distance, with final standings determined by total score. The event rewards accuracy, composure, and consistency over repeated attempts rather than direct competition against another shooter. In the early Olympic era, free pistol events used less standardized equipment and match conditions than later versions of the sport, but they already represented the precision-focused branch of pistol shooting.
