Military Rifle, Any Position (200 metres) is a precision shooting event in which competitors fire a series of shots with a rifle at fixed targets over a distance of 200 metres. Final standings are determined by total score, rewarding accuracy, consistency, and control across repeated strings. In the early Olympic era, the event reflected military-style rifle shooting traditions and period equipment, while allowing competitors to shoot from any position permitted by the rules of the competition.
