Cesta Punta

Sport: Basque Pelota

Cesta punta is a discipline of Basque pelota played with a long, curved wicker basket called a cesta or chistera. Players catch the ball in the basket and return it toward the front wall in one continuous, powerful motion.

Also known internationally as jai alai, it is one of the fastest variants of Basque pelota. It can be contested by individuals or teams, with success depending on accurate placement, quick reactions, control of the cesta, and coordination between partners.
